Cream Soup and Saucer from Aynsley's No. 4118. First, the bowl diameter is 4 1/8 and the diameter at the handles is 5 1/4. I bought these cream soups from a local collector this week. He had bought them years ago because they were eye catching to him at the time. To me, even more attractive were the back stories to these dishes. In my research. First, the bowl diameter is 4 1/8" and the diameter at the handles is 5 1/4". I bought these cream soups from a local collector this week. He had bought them years ago because they were eye catching to him at the time. To me, even more attractive were the back stories to these dishes. In my research of this pattern I read about John Aynsley and how he went from a successful coal mine manager to a beginning pottery maker. Great great story. What I've put together on this pattern is that it was made under contract exclusively for Marshall Fields, the dynamic Chicago retailer of note. Another great story of success. These dishes are all in excellent condition and will be conversation starters for you, tour guests, and family.。Questions are always welcome and have a nice day. 。 。
